Temporary Office Parking
When Central Bedfordshire Council undertook an expansion to their Priory House offices, they also needed additional temporary parking space.
The requirement was for availability and installation, on a short timescale, of a surface suitable for taking up to 90 vehicles on grass land. The surface would need to be removed once the expansion work was complete.
Ground Protection UK submitted a sample of our Enduramat ground protection board and this was quickly accepted as suitable by the Council.
We immediately surveyed the site adjacent to the west wing of the offices and arranged for the initial delivery of the boards within one week, with installation beginning straightaway.
Our installation team worked tirelessly to complete the first phase within three days. Some areas of the ground were strengthened with a polymer mesh before laying the boards. A pedestrian pathway was also provided from the parking area to the existing path alongside the west wing. Markings were added for the parking bays and pedestrian access areas. Finally, a new fence was installed around the edges of the parking area.
Following the successful installation and function of the parking area, we were contracted to extend the area 1 week later. This, again, was successfully finished in three working days to the satisfaction of the Council.
These heavy duty ground protection mats make an ideal temporary surface for vehicle parking and access. Along with our rapid supply and installation service they provide a quick and practical solution to the most demanding of situations.
